Popular Nigerian social media critic, Martins Vincent Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has revealed that the petition he filed against relationship therapist Blessing Okoro, also known as Blessing CEO, has been taken up for investigation by the Inspector General of Police (IGP).
The development follows the controversy surrounding Blessing CEO’s earlier claim that she was battling stage four cancer.
On March 25, 2026, the relationship coach shared an emotional video on Instagram, where she claimed she had been diagnosed with stage four cancer. In the clip, she appeared with shaved hair, which she attributed to the illness.
She later announced that she had begun selling off some of her properties to raise funds for treatment, prompting public sympathy and financial donations.
However, the situation escalated after the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Delta State chapter, distanced itself from a histology report circulating online and linked to her. The association stated that the document had allegedly been altered from an original report belonging to another patient diagnosed with breast cancer.
It would be recalled that Blessing CEO had earlier posted the report as evidence to support her claim while appealing for financial assistance.

Amid mounting criticism and allegations of falsification, she later withdrew her initial statement.
“I don’t have stage four cancer. That was a miscommunication.”
She also disclosed that the total amount she received from donations was 13 million naira before deactivating her social media account.
Reacting to the development, VeryDarkMan explained that he took action after personally donating to her cause, believing her story to be genuine.
In a video shared on his Instagram page on Tuesday, he recounted how he was emotionally moved by her condition.
“I believed her because she shaved her hair and I felt compassion. On that very day, I didn’t have anything left in my account, but I still transferred money to her,” he said.

He expressed concern over the implications of such claims, noting that they undermine the struggles of real cancer patients who rely on public support.
“There are a lot of people living with cancer. How can someone come out and joke with something like this?” he added.
VDM further confirmed that he has formally submitted a petition to the police, adding that the matter is now under official investigation.
“I have written a petition against Blessing CEO and the Inspector General of Police has assigned it for investigation,” he stated.
