The IGP set the agenda with a detailed blueprint focused on coordinated investigations and cross-regional operations, addressing emerging crime patterns and the complexities of policing diverse societies.

The plan also emphasises the importance of officer training across all facets of policing, aligning with global best practices for effective law enforcement.

In a bid to foster collaborative relationships, Egbetokun paid an official visit to AFRIPOL headquarters, where he was welcomed by Douglas Kanja, the Inspector General of Kenya’s National Police Service.

During this visit, both IGPs shared insights on managing violent protests in Africa. Ambassador Mohammed, Head of Legal at the African Union, was also in attendance, representing the AU’s legal consulate.

Egbetokun encouraged African regional leaders and representatives to fully implement the policies discussed at the meeting within their jurisdictions.

He stressed that doing so would enhance expertise and proficiency in combating the rising wave of criminal activity across the continent.
