Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola Badmus, widely known as Portable, has expressed frustration over what he described as very low income from music streaming platforms despite releasing songs frequently.
In a recent video broadcast, the Zazu crooner said that the revenue he receives from Apple Music does not reflect the effort he puts into releasing music regularly. According to him, he drops new songs almost every month but still earns little from the platform.
Portable also said he has listeners outside Nigeria, including fans in the United States and other parts of the world, and questioned why the earnings from those international streams appear insignificant.
The singer used the opportunity to call on renowned music producer and executive Don Jazzy, asking him to show him how to increase his revenue from digital streaming platforms.
Portable said, “I am in pain, I have been putting my song on Apple Music every month but the money I am generating is too low.
