Everton 2 Tottenham Hotspur 2

Harry Kane punished Everton’s defense on two costly errors as he helped Tottenham Hotspurs secure a 2-2 draw. The England captain, unfortunately, suffered a late injury at Goodison Park, hobbling off after the final whistle.

This is a huge blow for Spurs nine days before the Carabao Cup final against Manchester City and 58 days before England’s European Championship opener.

In between Kane’s brace, Gylfi Sigurdsson leveled from the penalty spot. After Reguilon got on the wrong side of James Rodriguez in the box. The Iceland midfielder then gave Everton the lead by finishing off a fine team goal in the second half.

The hosts, which is also pushing for the Champions League spot pushed hardest for a winner. Everton’s best chance to nick a win came to Joshua King. But his effort was saved by Hugo Lloris and Richarlison fired the rebound over from 12 yards.

The result leaves Tottenham five points adrift of fourth-placed West Ham. While Everton is a point and a place worse off with a game in hand.

Newcastle United 3 West Ham United 2

Newcastle opened the Premier League matchday 33 with a 3-2 win against in-form West Ham, which moved them further up the table.

The host began the journey that gave them a big step to securing another Premier League status with Issa Diop’s own goal. They doubled their lead with a Joelinton tap-in, which put them in a commanding position at the break.
West Ham suffered further blow, when Craig Dawson got sent off for two first-half bookings.

Diop reduced the parity for the Hammers through a header, and parity was restored when Jesse Lingard converted from the penalty spot after a VAR review.

Despite being a man down, the visitors were looking for the killer blow, but Newcastle had the final say with on loan Arsenal midfielder Joe Willock, coming off the bench to head in the important winning goal that lift Steve Bruce’s side up to 15th on the table.

The win gave them a nine-point cushion to the bottom three while West Ham dropped out of the top four after Chelsea played a goalless affair with Brighton.

Wolverhampton Wanderers 1 Sheffield United 0

Wolverhampton Wanderers secured a win that finally confirmed the relegation of Sheffield United through Willian Jose’s first goal for the Molineux outfit.

Knowing that a loss will confirm the inevitable after Newcastle defeated West Ham earlier on Saturday. The Blades tried to avoid defeat at Molineux but were unsuccessful in a poor game of few chances.

Manchester United 3 Burnley 1

Manchester United recorded another win in the Premier League, holding on to second position while chasing runaway leaders Manchester City. The Red Devils defeated Burnley 3-1 at Old Trafford in a match that witnessed some lovely team goals.

Burnley who are trying to avoid being dragged into a relegation fight, caused Manchester United’s defence a few problem from the blast of the whistle scoring within 14 seconds, but the goal was correctly ruled offside when Chris Wood beat Dean Henderson to a floated delivery on the edge of the penalty area, heading into an empty goal.

After ending the first half goalless, Ole Gunnar Solksjaer made some changes in halftime, with Edison Cavani, coming on for Fred. That paid off and United got into the lead three minutes after the restart.

Mason Greenwood gave the host the lead after Marcus Rashford squared the ball to Bruno Fernandes, who cleverly dummied the pass to allow the 19-year old fire beyond Peacock-Farrell.

Burnley restored parity 114 seconds later through Tarkowski from a corner. They tried frustrating United but Greenwood again scored six minutes from time with a fierce left-footed strike that deflected beyond goalkeeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell at the front post.

Cavani put the icing on the cake by tapping in Donny van de Beek’s low pass.

Arsenal 1 Fulham 1

Arsenal further dent the hope of Fulham surviving relegation after Eddie Nketiah’s 97th-minute leveller canceled out Josh Maja’s second-half controversial penalty.

It wasn’t a favourable result for Arsenal that is also chasing a Europa League spot, but a draw is a good result for a side that just qualified for the semi-finals of the Europa League, another route to automatic qualification for the UEFA Champions League.

There was controversy surrounding the goal as Arsenal defender Rob Holding stood in an offside position to the side of Fulham goalkeeper Alphonse Areola, who had saved Dani Ceballos’ initial shot before Nketiah taped in, but it stood.

This leaves the Cottagers on 27 points, five points behind the next team outside the relegation zone, Burnley, which has a game in hand.

Leeds United 1 Liverpool 1

Diego Llorente scored a late equaliser for Leeds stopped Liverpool from reaching the top four of the Premier League after Sadio Mane had given them the lead in the first half dominated by the visitors.

Liverpool got their deserved lead when Trent Alexander-Arnold latched on to Diogo Jota’s fine pass. And squared it to Sadio Mane to slot into an empty net to beat Illan Meslier, who had rushed out of goal.

After the first half, Leeds showed improvement. Patrick Bamford hit the crossbar before Llorente headed in his first goal for the club to earn Leeds a point. The result leaves Liverpool sixth on the log, two points behind the last Champions League place.

Chelsea 0 Brighton & Hove Albion 0

Chelsea shared the spoils with Brighton & Hove Albion to climb into the Champions Leagues. They are currently on the same points as West Ham, leading with goals difference. They will be facing the Hamers this weekend.

In a match which the Blues created little, Brighton enjoyed the best chances late. Adam Lallana fired wide before Danny Welbeck struck the post from distance. Brighton were reduced to ten after defender Ben White was sent off in stoppage time for a second booking as Chelsea looked to break away.

Tottenham Hotspur 2 Southampton 1

Son Heung-min’s late penalty completed a fight-back win for Tottenham Hotspur at the Tottenham Stadium on Wednesday night against Southampton. This was a deserved victory for interim head coach Ryan Mason in his first match in charge.

The visitors had gone ahead through prolific Danny Ings, who recently returned from injury. The Englishman glanced in James Ward-Prowse’s corner. The Saints would have scored earlier but thanks to saves from Hugo Lloris. Spur completed the first interval with a goal down.

They spring to life in the second half and deservedly got an equaliser though Gareth Bale, curled in a superb ball into the net.

Spurs continue to attack before getting the winner through a late VAR intervention. Son converted the spot-kick after a Moussa Djenepo foul on Harry Winks, was shown to be just inside the penalty area to secure the maximum points.

Aston Villa 1 Manchester City 2

Manchester inches close to their third Premier League in 4 seasons after coming from behind to record a 2-1 victory against Aston Villa at Villa Park. The win leaves them 11 points clear of Manchester United who remain in second spot.

The hosts opened the goals account within just a minute when the playout the City against the run of play and John McGinn, who guided a shot past Ederson following Ollie Watkins’ low cross didn’t make any mistake to convert the chance.

After settling into the game, City restored parity through impressive Phil Foden. The English midfielder finished off a fine City team move to equalise, before Rodri headed what proved to be the winner following Bernardo Silva’s cross.

City had a nervy finish after they went down to 10 men due to John Stone’s dismissal for a knee-high challenge on Jacob Ramsey. However, Villa failed to capitalise on the extra player, offering little threat when it was 10-a-side.
