Manchester United returned to winning ways after a hard-fought 1-0 Premier League victory over an impressive Burnley side.
Burnley were obviously well prepared for the test at Turf Moor as they pierced through United’s set up with aplomb. The home team moved the ball around with so much confidence that left their supporters applauding at every attacking foray.
When called to action, Onana didn’t disappoint. The Cameroonian goalkeeper dived well to save a Zeki Amdouni header and later caught a shot aimed at the target.

Burnley also hit the post from Amdouni’s effort and were always a threat anytime they pushed forward.
Jonny Evans, brought in this summer as a short-term solution to recurring defensive problems – injuries especially, thought he had put United ahead after his header from a corner found the net.
However, video assistant referee (VAR) ruled his goal out after Rasmus Holjund’s block on goalkeeper James Trafford.
United record much needed win
In the first minute of additional time, the Red Devils were not to be denied. Evans played a beautiful, left-footed pass that floated all the way to Bruno Fernandes up front. The Portuguese dispatched a well-timed, first-time shot that beat the goalkeeper as United headed into the break with the advantage.
Chances continued to be spurned in the second half with Holjund getting into good positions to score. Burnley defenders did well to deal with United attackers.

The win comes as a big relief for United who has lost three straight games before today. They also conceded three or more goals in those defeats.
Erik Ten Hag’s team now have nine points from six league matches this term. However, Vincent Kompany’s side are bottom of the log with just one point.
