Premier League GameWeek 24 features double games for some teams, and they will who play their games in hand.

NRTC’s Oladipupo Mojeed brings some insight to the games that will be played over the next few days.

Leicester City vs Liverpool

Leicester City’s high flying form has wanes with only have 2 victories in their last 5 matches.

They need a positive result against the Reds as a defeat could see them crash to 4th place.

Although they have Wilfred Ndidi and Jamie Vardy back in action, they must make do without Timothy Castagne. He is out with injury while James Justin is also doubtful for the fixture.

Jurgen Kloppā€™s men have had a week to prepare for this fixture after their 4-1 defeat to Manchester City at Anfield.

They need to get back winning, as the title race is pulling away from their reach.

Despite current poor form, Liverpool is expected to win as they have been the better of the two teams in recent meetings.

Crystal Palace vs Burnley

Palace has not fared well without Wilfred Zaha. And if the Ivorian is unavailable for this encounter, their chances of a win become slimmer.

Burnley crashed out of the FA Cup after a defeat to Bournemouth on Tuesday as they lose their 3rd game in their last 4 outings in all competitions.

Theyā€™re quite safe from relegation places despite sitting 17th on the league table. However, the results must get better if they are to stay up this season.

Manchester City vs Tottenham Hotspur

The Citizens are on super form, extending their winning run to 15 games in all competitions after a 3-1 victory over Swansea on Tuesday.

The match against Jose Mourinhoā€™s men however, would be a challenge as theyā€™re yet to beat Spurs since the Portuguese took over.

Spurs were knocked out of the FA Cup on Wednesday night after losing 5-4 to the Toffees.

Theyā€™ve also lost 3 of their last 4 Premier League games, with the only victory in that run coming against 19th placed West Bromwich Albion.

With Harry Kane back from injury, Tottenham’s chances are boosted but the City are well placed to win this fixture.

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Aston Villa

After defeating Tottenham and Liverpool in back to back games, Brighton has now drawn with Burnley and lost to Leicester in their last 2 games.

Theyā€™ve pulled quite far away from relegation places but still need to get better to ensure safety this season.

Aston Villa got back to winning ways with victory over Arsenal. Theyā€™ve had a week off to recover and prepare for this encounter with Brighton.

Deans Smithā€™s men havenā€™t been in firing form recently but would be expected to pick up a win at the Amex.

Southampton vs Wolverhampton Wanderers

Southampton claimed a 2-0 victory over Wolves in the FA Cup on Thursday. They also claimed history over Arsenal in the FA Cup but werenā€™t able to replicate their victory in the Premier League.

However a win is crucial this time around after a 5-game losing streak in the Premier League.

Wolverhampton’s form hasnā€™t been any better with just one victory in their last 10 Premier League games. This came against 9-man Arsenal and they are struggling in the absence of star striker Raul Jimenez.

West Bromwich Albion vs Manchester United

West Brom has lost 4 of their last 5 Premier League games.

Theyā€™ve fared poorly at home under Sam Allardyce and have conceded 19 goals and scored just twice in their last 5 games at the Hawthorns.

Manchester United are favorites heading into Sunday fixtures but theyā€™ve struggled at times against opponents who sit deep and hit on the counter.

They are expected to come out with all 3 points but surely wonā€™t find things easy at the Hawthorns.

Arsenal vs Leeds United

Arsenal seem back on course for a finish in European places but have suffered setbacks against Wolves and Aston Villa in back to back defeats.

Leeds have won 3 of their last 4 games and sit a place above Arsenal ahead of their meeting. They are the better on form, but have struggled against the traditional elite teams this season.

If Leeds can iron out their issues at the back, they should be able to earn a positive result against the Gunners.

Everton vs Fulham

Everton topped their positive result at Old Trafford with a 5-4 victory over Spurs in the FA Cup on Wednesday.

They sit 7th place and could go as high as 4th place if they win their 2 games in hand. They are heavy favourites in this encounter but have a couple of injuries that could hinder their performances.

Despite their performances, Fulham has managed just 2 victories in the Premier League this season. That is less than bottom place Sheffield United. Theyā€™ve drawn 8 of their last 11 league games but havenā€™t been able to pull themselves out of relegation places.

Considering form and match history between these two clubs, Everton are tipped to get all 3 points on Sunday.

West Ham United vs Sheffield United

West Ham was knocked out of the FA Cup by Manchester United after extra time on Tuesday. But the biggest blow was the injuries they picked up in the process. If the injured players remain unavailable, David Moyes will be scratching the barrel to pick his starting eleven.

The Blades moved into the FA Cup quarter-finals with a victory over Bristol City and have now won 6 of their last 9 games in all competitions.

They seemed set for relegation with a poor start to the season but have a chance at survival if they continue in their current form.

Chelsea vs Newcastle United

Chelsea are yet to taste defeat under Thomas Tuchel and have won 4 of their 5 games under him, keeping 4 clean sheets in the process. They have however, struggled to get going in attack.

Newcastle have shown signs of improvement lately but have been dealt an injury blow. Callum Wilson – who has direct involvement in 60% of Newcastle goals – is sidelined for the next few weeks.

Chelsea has a very good home record against Newcastle and would be expected to take all the spoils in this encounter.

Additional games to be played in Premier League GameWeek 24 are:
Everton vs Manchester City ā€“ Thursday, 17th February 2021
Burnley vs Fulham ā€“ Thursday, 17th February, 2021.
