‎Premier League names eight nominees for 2025/26 player of the season award 

The Premier League has announced the shortlist for the 2025/26 EA SPORTS Player of the Season award, with eight standout footballers nominated across clubs, including Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester United, Brentford, and Nottingham Forest. 

The nominees were revealed on Thursday, May 14, on the League’s official website.

‎Arsenal dominate the nominations with three players. Gabriel, the 28‑year‑old centre‑back, has been a defensive pillar, recording 16 clean sheets, three goals, and four assists in 30 matches.

‎Spain’s David Raya, 30, claimed the Coca‑Cola Golden Glove for the third successive season after keeping 18 clean sheets in 36 appearances.

‎Midfuelder Declan Rice, 27, added four goals and five assists, stepping up as a leader in the absence of captain Martin Odegaard.

‎Ghanaian forward Antoine Semenyo, 26, impressed after joining City in January, scoring 16 goals and providing four assists across spells at Bournemouth and City, and winning his first Player of the Month award in February. 

‎Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes, 31, has inspired his side’s climb to third place with eight goals and 19 assists in 33 matches, leaving him one shy of equalling the all‑time Premier League assists record.

‎Brentford’s Igor Thiago, 25, netted 22 goals in 36 appearances, setting a new record for the most goals by a Brazilian in a single Premier League season.

‎Nottingham Forest’s Morgan Gibbs‑White, 26, scored 13 goals and assisted four, helping his club secure survival and earning his first Player of the Month award in April. 

‎According to the League, “Fans have until 12:00 BST on Monday, 18 May to vote for their favourite. The public vote will be combined with those of a panel of football experts to decide the winner, who will be announced next week.”
