President Muhammadu Buhari has revealed that the main opposition parties lost the just concluded presidential election because of over-confident.
The President asserted that while the All Progressive Congress (APC) was working hard to retain power, the opposition parties were busy telling their foreign backers they would defeat the party.
President Buhari said this while receiving the Progressive Governors Forum led by their Chairman, Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State, on Thursday at State House, Abuja.

The president in a statement by his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu said APC blended confidence with caution, worked hard, and won but the overconfidence of the opposition parties is now creating more problems for them.
“They are finding it hard to convince those who supported them from outside why they are unable to beat us,” President Buhari stated.
He said he specifically congratulated the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu because the opposition parties got support and false hope from outside and went on to create the impression of winning.
