Tanzanian protesters have reportedly raided and looted the fashion store owned by popular singer Juma Jux following widespread unrest in the country.

According to multiple reports, the chaos erupted on Thursday after a disputed general election that saw the disqualification and detention of several key opposition figures.

The demonstrators are calling for the annulment of the election results, alleging massive irregularities in the presidential poll.

Amid the unrest, a social media post by X user Bolaji Fesomade claimed that the singer’s store, estimated to be worth $780 million, had been set ablaze by the protesters.

However, Juma Jux’s wife, Priscilla Ojo, refuted the claim via her Snapchat account, clarifying that the store had been looted but not destroyed by fire.

She simply wrote, “Looted not Burnt.”
