Paris Saint-Germain have clinched the 2024/25 Ligue 1 crown – their 13th – with six games still to play in the season. Although they only needed a draw against Angers, PSG sealed it with a hard-fought 1-0 win.
This latest achievement means 11 of the 13 titles have come under the Qatar Sports Investment (QSI) era since 2011. Before that takeover, PSG’s only other wins came in 1986 and again in 1994.
Despite dominating much of the season, PSG had to grind out this particular win at the Parc des Princes. The stadium was buzzing with energy, and though a draw would have sufficed, they pushed for more.

Although Vitinha tested the Angers goalkeeper with a thunderous long-range effort before the break, the visitors held strong. However, the pressure eventually paid off after the interval when Désiré Doué broke the deadlock.

He connected beautifully with a cross from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, volleying it into the net in the 55th minute. While Angers tried to respond, they failed to threaten PSG’s goal convincingly.
Former Barcelona winger, Ousmane Dembélé came on in the second half, hoping to extend his Ligue 1 goal tally. Yet despite several lively runs, he couldn’t add to his 21 goals this campaign.
At the final whistle, Coach Luis Enrique was hoisted in the air by jubilant staff and players. The team followed up their celebration with a passionate lap of honour.

Moreover, if PSG manage to beat Reims in the French Cup final on May 24, they’ll claim a second straight domestic double. It would be another feather in the cap for Luis Enrique’s thrilling reign as they are also still in contention to win the Champions League.
The title win continues to demonstrate Paris Saint-Germain’s dominance on the domestice front.
