Regina Daniels is a young Nigerian actress who found fame exhibiting her talent in the world of make-believe. Acting has always been her desire and she has been gracing our screen since she was a child.
The talented actress has been acting since she was seven years old. Her style, demeanor, and excellent translation of her roles has won her many fans over the years.
Fast forward to the year 2019, Regina becomes a trending topic on gossip blogs. Many rely on her name to boost traffic to their sites. The primary reason being her suspected relationship with politician and business man, Prince Ned Nwoko.
It was the worst kept secret until the proverbial bubble finally burst. She was getting married to the 59 year old man. Tongues wagged, hands flapped in the air, and moral judges tabled her matter on the altar of gossip.
Some dubbed the teen actress inadequate to make concrete decisions on important issues such as marriage. Another group of people tagged her mother – Rita Daniels – as a gold digger.
Words continued to filter that the young lady may be pushed into marriage by personal interests which may later be regretted. The words, like the way they were said, died when Regina’s marriage to her wealthy husband was finalized. Mouths were left ajar to the knowledge that Regina Daniels was Prince Ned Nwoko’s sixth wife.
Some persons screeched, with intent born out of a desire to be convinced a 19 year old can be comfortable marrying a 59 year old man. Regina, in her usual style, ignored the trolls and paid them no attention. She broke out from their whims and derogatory comments to a life of splendor, wealth, and affluence.
In any society, there is an unspoken code of conduct. Nigeria is not any different. Our personal thought vanish, binding with societal norms, regardless of how uncomfortable we may feel about them. At times, we let our happiness shrink when we place what others think of us, before what we want.
Regina Daniels is a typical example of a young girl who desires a good life. Beyond the quest to marry a man of great wealth and honour, there are other opportunities to yearn for, against the society’s code. Some persons have been gagged into settling for less because they do not want others to assume that they have “long-throat”.

Have you wondered why people prefer to stay in a place with low expectations? How about people who prefer to stay in abusive relationships? And those who are scared of asking for a better pay structure because they feel others will think they are money conscious?
It is pertinent to note that some of us are just like Regina Daniels. We want the good essentials of life. Our only limiting factor is what people may think of us. Perhaps we are scared of the process of getting what we want. Or scared of something else.
When an individual sticks to stagnation instead of evolving, he or she has fears of the growth process.

We are not oblivious of the fact that achievements come with challenges. However, one question you should ask yourself is whether you truly want that thing? Are you willing to do all it takes to get your desires, legally?
There is nothing wrong with aspiring for a better life. You are not committing a crime if you ask for a pay rise. There are many incongruities wroughting our world. If you ask that people treat you better, because you deserve it, it is fine. It is a right.
Furthermore, do not cower to staying uncomfortable with situations and society’s standard to the extent that you lose your own happiness. But, if you feel society’s rule is what you consider best, then stick with it. Nevertheless, do not choke others with it. Live, and let live.
Regina Daniels and Prince Ned Nwoko welcomed their first, a boy, on June 29, 2020. The proud mother has scaled a hurdle of unimportant opinions about her. That, to her, is grandeur and a conscious decision not to allow anyone tame her happiness. Choose your own happiness today, and see it through.
