Nigerian recording artiste, Divine Ikubor who is better known as Rema has admonished his colleagues in the entertainment industry to support the organizers of the Headies Award ceremony and other music institutions in the country.
The 23-year-old aired his opinion during his award acceptance speech at the 2023 Headies Award that took place in Atlanta, Georgie on Sunday, September 3.
Rema who won Best Male artist, African Artist of the Year and Digital artist of the year mentioned that it is only ideal for Nigerian entertainers to honour their own institution.

Speaking while accepting his award for “Best Male Artiste”, Rema stated,
“I’m not here because of the award, I’m here because we need to support our institutions.
“We are in a very sensitive period that if we don’t give our attention to our institutions, we will miss this chance that we have.”

The singer-songwriter went home with three awards. Since his debut in 2019, Rema has continued to etch his name in the history books of the Nigerian entertainment industry.
He released his debut studio album, “Rave & Roses” in March 2022, shattering numerous records across the globe.
