Remo Stars ready for Champions League showdown as CAF announce referee for ASFAR clash

CAF has revealed the referee for the crucial second-leg encounter between Morocco’s ASFAR and Nigeria’s Remo Stars.

Last weekend in Ikenne, the Sky Blue Stars secured a 2-1 victory over the Moroccan side in the first leg of the CAF Champions League preliminary round.

Captain Junior Nduka and right-back Ismail Sadiq scored beautiful headers in between an ASFAR goal as the Nigerians took the advantage into the second leg.

With the return leg set for Sunday in Rabat, all eyes are on the decisive clash. CAF announced on Thursday that Benin Republic national Adissa Abdul Raphiou Ligali will officiate the match. The Nigerian team heads into the game needing at least a draw to advance to the next round.

Interestingly, video from Remo Stars training yesterday night saw the team rehearse with fans noise being played from speakers. This is to get the players mentally ready ahead of the expectations in front of the Moroccan fans in Rabat.

The Moroccan team, on the other hand, will be determined to overturn the deficit in front of their home crowd.

And now, the stage is set for a tense battle in Rabat, where the stakes couldnā€™t be higher for both teams. Remo Stars are indeed confident in their ability to maintain their advantage, while ASFAR will be pushing for a comeback.
