Richarlison bags double for Tottenham as they defeat Newcastle 4-1; Man City return to winning ways as Chelsea suffer another defeat against Everton

Richarlison scored twice in the 4-1 win against Newcastle United on Sunday, December 10 to bring his side, Tottenham Hotspur back to winning ways following a series of poor results in the English Premier League.

Prior to the game on Sunday night, Tottenham had taken just one point from five matches.

They came into the final feature of match day 16 against a Newcastle United side that lost 3-0 to Everton just a couple of days ago expecting to fix their poor performance in recent months.

Nigerian-born English footballer, Destiny Udogie put the London side ahead in the 26th minute before Brazilian forward, Richarlison doubled Tottenham’s lead prior to half-time.

In the second half, Richarlison scored his second goal of the evening and Tottenham’s third as they were reassured of all three points. Tottenham’s captain, Son Heung-Min scored from the penalty spot to further humiliated Newcastle United who is having a forgettable week.

In the concluding minutes of the game, Joelinton got a consolation for Newcastle who will be looking to focus on their most-win UEFA Champions League match against Italian side, AC Milan on Wednesday night.

Earlier on Sunday, Tottenham’s rival Chelsea suffered another defeat after losing 2-0 to a resurgent Everton side at Goodison park, Merseyside.

Another London side, Fulham thrashed their fellow London rivals West Ham 5-0 to continue a fine run of games, scoring a total of thirteen goals in three matches.

The reigning champions, Manchester City needed to come from behind to defeat a resilient Luton Town 2-1. Goals from Bernado Silva and Jack Grealish meant Manchester City are back in the English Premier League title race after going four games without a win in the league.
