River State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Zacchaeus Adangor, has resigned from his appointment amidst the political crisis in the state.Ā
In his resignation letter addressed to Governor Siminalayi Fubara, Adangor cited “personal reasons” for his decision.
Adangor added that his resignation is based on personal principles.Ā

He thanked Governor Sim Fubara for the opportunity and privilege granted him to serve in his administration as a member of the cabinet.Ā
He stated his family is indebted to the governor.Ā Adangor was one of the cabinet members of former Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, re-appointed by Fubara.
Some speculate that the resignation might be linked to the recent political crisis in Rivers State, with tensions brewing between the governor and former governor Nyesom Wike.Ā

Adangor, considered an ally of Wike, might have felt pressure due to the unfolding situation while others suggest the resignation could be due to disagreements with the governor’s administration on legal matters or policy decisions.
