His detention followed an arrest in Lagos about a week ago by Senator Ned Nwoko, connected to the ongoing family dispute involving Regina Daniels.
After his release, his elder brother shared the news on social media, thanking Nigerians for their support.
On 28 October 2025 the Federal Capital Territory Police Command received a petition accusing Sammy and three others of criminal conspiracy, trespass, assault, criminal intimidation, theft and cyber‑bullying.
According to the police, Sammy was invited for questioning on several occasions but did not appear.
A court‑issued arrest warrant followed, and he was arrested in Lagos and conveyed to Abuja for further investigation.
After investigation, Sammy was arraigned on 6 November 2025 on the charges listed above and remanded by the court pending fulfilment of his bail conditions.
At the same time, his sister Regina has claimed the arrest was linked to the fallout in her marriage with Ned Nwoko and that the detention was used to pressure her.
