Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has thanked the citizens for their unwavering support, cooperation and resilience over the past seven years.

The governor conveyed the message in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile, to mark the administration’s seventh anniversary in office.

He stressed that the support of Lagosians remained the driving force behind reforms in critical sectors across the state.

The governor noted that despite major global economic challenges, particularly the disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the state sustained its development agenda and continued to deliver key projects.

“Seven years ago, we began this journey with a clear vision to build a Greater Lagos that works for all,” Sanwo-Olu said.

“Today, I salute every Lagosian for the trust, patience and partnership you have shown. Your support has remained the bedrock of every milestone we have achieved, from improved infrastructure and healthcare to education reforms, urban mass transport systems, youth empowerment and urban renewal projects across the five divisions of our state.”

The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to accelerated development.

He stated that the government would sustain momentum by completing ongoing infrastructure projects while unveiling fresh initiatives aimed at improving residents’ quality of life.

He identified the THEMES+ development agenda as the foundation for the state’s next phase of growth and transformation.

Tinubu

Sanwo-Olu also appreciated President Bola Tinubu, noting that the Federal Government’s “Renewed Hope” agenda had strengthened Lagos State’s efforts in public empowerment, healthcare delivery and regional security.

“As we mark this seventh anniversary, I want to assure Lagosians that the best is yet to come,” the governor added.

“We will not rest on our oars. We will continue to provide quality roads, affordable housing, reliable healthcare, world-class education and a secure environment where businesses can thrive.”

To reinforce transparency and accountability, the governor revealed that the administration spent the past month presenting its performance reports to the public through a series of ministerial press briefings.

During the briefings, ministries, departments and agencies presented verified scorecards highlighting their achievements, expenditures and future deliverables to residents.

The anniversary message concluded with appreciation for the contributions of the state civil service, traditional rulers, religious bodies, community stakeholders and leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC), whom the governor credited for supporting the socio-economic transformation of the state.
