Sanwo-Olu congratulates Tinubu on election as ECOWAS chairman 


Lagos State Governor,  Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has congratulated President Bola Tinubu on his election as Chairman of the Authority of Heads of State and Government of the Economic Community of West African States, ECOWAS.

Sanwo-Olu in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Gboyega Akosile said Tinubu’s powerful speech proclaiming Nigeria’s comeback and its role in regional economic growth and development.

Sanwo-Olu stated that Lagos State and Nigeria are of absolute confidence that Tinubu would perform exceptionally well.

He described the development which took place at the 63rd Ordinary Session on Sunday in Bissau, Guinea-Bissau as a significant affirmation of Nigeria’s leadership in the sub-region and Africa and the African continent.

“On behalf of the people of Lagos State, I want to congratulate our leader, mentor, and pathfinder, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on this remarkable achievement as the Chairman of the Authority of Heads of State and Government of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).

“We have absolute confidence that you will perform exceptionally well in your new role as the Head of the important regional organisation and we are happy to be associated with you.
