Sanwo-Olu discusses essential role of markets in modern food systems in Paris

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu met with the management of Rungis International Wholesale Food Market in Paris, France on Thursday to discuss the essential role of markets in modern food systems. 

The governor announced on his X page that they also explored potential collaborations for the Lagos Food and Logistics Hub project.

During the meeting, they established concrete plans for effective cooperation between Rungis, the world’s second-largest wholesale food market, and the Lagos State Government.

“Among the key individuals present were Stephane Layani, the Chairman and Executive Officer of Semmaris; Bertrand Ambrose, the Director of the International Business Unit; Timothée Witkowski, the Head of International Projects at Semmaris-Rungis Market; Prince S.J. Samuel, the Chairman of Origin Group; Abisola Olusanya, the Commissioner for Agriculture; Dr. Omotola Fashola, the Special Adviser on Agriculture; and Mr. Olaniwun Gbolabo Owolabi, the Executive Assistant on Agriculture.”
