Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has dedicated the 420 completed units to the memory of the late Akinsanya Sunny Ajose.
The newly opened facility, now titled Akinsanya Sunny Ajose Housing Estate in Ajara, Badagry, pays tribute to the distinguished local son.
Ajose served as a former Head of Service for Lagos State, a Special Adviser in the governor’s Office, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and a member of the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC).
Ajose passed away shortly before what would have been his 79th birthday on February 4, 2025.
Sanwo-Olu reiterated his government’s commitment to delivering affordable and sustainable accommodation for residents of Lagos.
He specified that this project contributes to the administration’s plan to provide more than 2,000 additional housing units within the Badagry region.
The governor highlighted that the new estate aligns with his administration’s T.H.E.M.E.S Plus Agenda, which targets the development of a 21st-century economy through expansive infrastructure and housing initiatives.

During the event, Sanwo-Olu also conducted the ground-breaking ceremony for the Phase II of the scheme.
This second phase is planned as an eight-storey high-rise building, with construction scheduled to begin next year.
The governor reaffirmed his government’s dedication to narrowing the housing gap and ensuring that respectable, cost-effective residences are available to promote inclusive development and urban revitalization across the state.
