Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Thursday rewarded the Lagos State University (LASU) record-breaking graduating Law student, Aminat Yusuf who graduated with a CGPA of 5.0 with a sum of N10 million.
Sanwo-Olu at the 26th Convocation and 40th Anniversary of LASU announced a personal donation of N5 million and an additional N5 million from the State Government to recognize Yusuf’s outstanding achievement.
The governor further commended the institution’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello for excellence and the academic achievements of students.

“I applaud the institution’s accomplishments, including being designated as an ‘Africa Center of Excellence for STEM Education’ by the World Bank. LASU continues to make us proud,” Sanwo-Olu maintained.
“On the occasion of the 26th Convocation and 40th Anniversary of Lagos State University, I congratulate the Chancellor, Vice Chancellor, and the entire university community.
“Congratulations to Aminat Yusuf Imoitsemeh for graduating with a perfect CGPA of 5.0 in Law. I’m pleased to announce a personal donation of N5m and an additional N5m from the State Government to recognize her outstanding achievement. Well done Aminat!

“Hearty congratulations also to Former Lagos State Governor/Former Minister, Mr. Babatunde Fashola SAN, for being conferred an Honorary Doctorate Degree, Doctor of Humane Letters, Urban and Rural Community Development and Youth Empowerment (Honoris Causa)”
The governor also congratulated all the graduating students, saying they have worked hard to achieve academic excellence as well as urged them to continue making positive contributions to the nation’s development.
Also, Lagos monarch, the Oniba of Iba Kingdom, Oba Sulaimon Adeshina Raji gave Yusuf N2 million and promised her full sponsorship through Law School.
The Vice Chancellor of LASU last week said Yusuf would be rewarded with an N500,000 cash prize.
