The Nigerian Senate has officially confirmed Aminu Maida as the Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC).
The confirmation took place following the presentation and adoption of a report by the Committee on Communication, headed by Bilbis Ikra (APC- Zamfara), during the Committee of the Whole session on Thursday.
Chairperson Ikra urged the Senate to consider President Bola Tinubu’s request for Maida’s confirmation as the NCC chairperson, citing Section 8 (1) of the Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC) Establishment Act, 2003.

The committee attested to Maida’s successful screening, emphasizing his satisfactory security clearance, possession of necessary qualifications, extensive professional experience, competence, and regulatory aptitude, all of which align with ensuring the NCC’s continued success.
Consequently, Ikra appealed to the Senate to ratify the nomination, leading to the Senate’s confirmation of Aminu Maida as the Executive Vice Chairman of the NCC.
