Seun Kuti, a one-time Grammy nominee has stated that he was ostracized for being the son the legendary music icon and Afrobeats pioneer, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti.
Speaking in a recent interview with actress Iyabo Ojo, Kuti said his paternity also affected his relationship, stressing that he couldnāt go to his girlfriendās fatherās house.
He said the stigmatization was appalling because his late father didnāt do anything to warrant it.

Kuti said, āGrowing up, I was stigmatized for being Felaās son. I couldnāt even enter my girlfriendās fatherās house. Even the street, people would always point at me and say, āSee Fela pikin.ā It was annoying because my father didnāt do anything.
āNow, these killers, murderers, corrupt thieves that their actions are killing millions of Nigerians everyday, you are willing to be in party with them and hailing them. We need to check ourselves.ā
He also disclosed during the interview that his joined his late fatherās band, Egypt 80, at the age of 8.
