Oyo State Governor, ‘Seyi Makinde, has officially designated Mrs. Olanike Kudirat Adeyemo, a Professor at the Department of Veterinary Public Health and Preventive Medicine, University of Ibadan, as the Secretary to the State Government (SSG).
The appointment was conveyed in a letter signed by the governor.
Professor Adeyemo is renowned for her role as the Head of the Oyo State COVID-19 Decontamination and Containment team under the Oyo State COVID-19 Taskforce.

Her academic journey began from Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (D.V.M.), Master’s degree in Veterinary Public Health (MVPH), and Ph.D. in Veterinary Public Health in 1994, 1998, and 2005 respectively from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria.
With a distinguished status as a COMSTECH scholar and the Pioneer Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research, Innovation, and Strategic Partnerships) at the University of Ibadan, she served from 2017 to 2021.
Professor Adeyemo commenced her career at the University of Ibadan in March 1999 as a Lecturer Grade II in the Department of Veterinary Public Health and Preventive Medicine, and climbed up the academic ladder in subsequent years before she eventually became a full Professor in October 2011.
With her wealth of experience and academic accomplishments, Professor Olanike Kudirat Adeyemo’s appointment as the Secretary to the State Government holds promise for the advancement of Oyo State’s governance and public health initiatives.
