Shallipopi is easily the breakout superstar from 2023.
His songs boomed at concerts, house parties and were the anthem performed at various events throughout December. It is safe to dub Shallipopi the next big thing in the Nigerian entertainment industry.
Shallipopi is the trending recording artiste in the country, best thing to emerge in 2023, despite not being an immediate success, his influence gradually captured the attention of the average music listener.

Born Crown Uzama in Benin City, Edo state, Shallipopi gained modest notoriety in the early part of 2023 with his single, ‘Elon Musk’.
Predominantly, the 27-year-old rapper and singer-songwriter spoke about his background and struggle to attain prominence. His lyrics were designed to appeal to a burgeoning generation that was interested in the fast life, trending topics and epicureanism.
Unapologetically singing in his indigenous Benin accent, the President of the ‘Pluto’ community wasn’t trying to discuss the theme of societal pressure nor relate with the struggles of Nigerians; instead, his lyrics appealed to those who want to delve to another planet known as ‘Pluto’.
Presido La Pluto…
In November 2023, Shallipopi released his debut studio album titled, Presido La Pluto.
The debut music project is coming after he released his EP, Planet Pluto in July of the same year.
The debut studio album peaked at number one on the TurnTable Top 50 Albums and also peaked at number five on the Apple Music top 100 albums.
Prior to the release of Presido La Pluto, on 17 October 2023, he launched his own record label after signing to Dvpper Music Distribution with his music acts Zerry DL and Tega Boi. Shallipopi signed them the day he launched the record label.
It would be interesting to see what the Pluto president has to offer his fans in the new year.
