“Single people are not lonely and miserable,” according to media personality, Toke Makinwa

Foremost Nigerian media personality, Toke Makinwa is of the opinion that single people are not as lonely and miserable as people think.

Countering the widespread ideology that people’s happiness is tied to being married, the media personality stated that many single individuals lead content and fulfilled lives.

Speaking on her X handle, she called for a mindset shift as the New Year 2025 approaches.

She wrote; “Let that rubbish behaviour of thinking that single people are miserable, lonely or sad be left in 2024.

“There’re so many people in horrible situations (whatever you call it) that secretly wish they were alone, so let people be.”
