Skales denies claim Burna Boy gifted him N600,000

Singer Skales has dismissed reports suggesting that fellow artiste Burna Boy once gave him N600,000 during a period of financial difficulty, describing the claim as false and misleading.

According to Skales, the story originated from a Burna Boy fan on X, formerly known as Twitter, who allegedly fabricated the narrative.

The artiste made this known during a recent appearance on the Adesope Live show, where he spoke about the harmful effects of social media misinformation and fake news within the music industry.

“There was a time I had to reach out to a Burna Boy fan on Twitter, I think his name is Benny or something. I asked him what I had done to him to warrant the hate he exhibits towards me.

“He created a fake news that there was a time that I was broke and Burna Boy helped me with N600,000. That never happened,” he said.

Skales also cautioned musicians against allowing overly enthusiastic fans to create unnecessary conflicts among them. He advised artistes to communicate directly with one another to clarify issues whenever such situations arise.
