Spain head coach Luis de la Fuente officially released his squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup on 25 May in Madrid, confirming the players who will represent La Roja in North America.
According to the list, the goalkeepers are Unai Simón, David Raya and Joan García.
The defenders named include Cucurella, Grimaldo, Cubarsí, Laporte, Pubill, Eric García, Marcos Llorente and Pedro Porro.
In midfield, the coach selected Pedri, Fabián, Zubimendi, Gavi, Rodrigo, Álex Baena and Merino.

The attackers chosen are Oyarzabal, Dani Olmo, Nico Williams, Yeremy Pino, Ferran Torres, Borja Iglesias, Víctor Muñoz and Lamine Yamal.
The announcement also confirmed some notable omissions. Dani Carvajal and other Real Madrid players were left out, meaning Spain will head into the tournament without representation from the reigning European champions.
Speaking at the press conference, de la Fuente explained, The roster was almost finalised months ago, we were just waiting to see what happened in each game.
“We have chosen players who can compete at the highest level now, but also represent the future of our national team. This group has the talent, commitment, and ambition to make Spain proud,” he said.

Spain will begin their World Cup campaign on 15 June against Cabo Verde in Atlanta, followed by Saudi Arabia on 21 June at the same venue, before facing Uruguay on 26 June in Guadalajara.
These fixtures set the stage for La Roja’s bid to progress from Group H, where they will look to combine youthful energy with established leadership in pursuit of success.
