Halimatu Ayinde and Rosengard have claimed the 2024 Swedish Damallsvenskan title, capping off a brilliant season with a 2-1 win over Kristianstad.

The title victory came with four games to spare and booked their spot in next season’s UEFA Womenā€™s Champions League.

Rebecca Knaak was the star of the show, netting twice to lead Rosengard to glory. Her first strike came in the 19th minute at Malmo IP, and she doubled the lead soon after, assisted by Momoko Tanikawa.

Kristianstad briefly threatened a comeback with Tilda Sanden pulling one back for the visitors. However, it wasnā€™t enough to deny Rosengardā€™s unstoppable march toward the title.

Adding to the celebrations, Rosengard’s title win was confirmed after Hammarby, their closest rivals, played out a goalless draw with Linkoping. This left Rosengard holding a massive 17-point lead atop the table, with 66 points compared to Hammarbyā€™s 49.

For Super Falcons player Ayinde, this marks her second league title with Rosengard, although she was absent from the title-clinching match due to a knee injury.

Before her injury, Ayinde had contributed one goal in 12 league appearances for Rosengard. Despite her absence, her presence throughout the season has been invaluable to Rosengardā€™s successful campaign. Ayinde also missed the Paris 2024 Olympics due to her injury.
