Estimated reading time: 2 minutes

The Supreme Court has upheld Bala Mohammed’s election as the governor of Bauchi state and Abba Yusuf’s victory as the governor of Kano state.

In Bauchi, a five-member panel of the apex court dismissed Sadique Abubakar’s appeal, the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the March 2023 election. Meanwhile, in Kano, another five-member panel of the apex court ruled that the tribunal and the court of appeal made errors in removing Yusuf, the candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), as governor.
