Tems, Burna Boy set new Billboard Record with eighth Hot 100 entries

Nigerian music stars Tems and Burna Boy have moved ahead of South African rock band Seether to become the African acts with the highest number of appearances on the Billboard U.S. Hot 100 chart.

Before now, the three were tied with seven entries each. However, fresh appearances on the chart this week have pushed the Nigerian duo ahead. Their latest milestones came through guest features on J. Cole’s album, The Fall-Off.

“Bounce Road Blues,” a track featuring Tems alongside Future, debuted at number 34 on the chart. Meanwhile, “Only You,” which features Burna Boy, entered at number 78. These new entries bring both Tems and Burna Boy to a total of eight Billboard Hot 100 appearances each — the highest ever recorded by African artistes.

With the latest update, Tems has now secured three Billboard Hot 100 entries in 2026 alone. Her songs on the chart this year include “Raindance” with Dave, “What You Need,” and the newly released “Bounce Road Blues.” This gives her the highest number of entries by any African act so far this year.

On his part, Burna Boy has also set another record. He becomes the first African artiste to appear on the Billboard Hot 100 for six consecutive years. His charting songs over the period include “Loved By You” (2021), “Last Last” (2022), “Sittin’ On Top Of The World” and “Talibans II” (2023), “Just Like Me” and “We Pray” (2024), “WGFT” (2025), and now “Only You” (2026).
