Tems elucidates to netizens her relationship with ‘Jesus’ as she is compared to river goddess, Yemoja in new photo

Nigerian recording artiste, Temilade Openiyi who is better known as Tems has alluded her enthralling photo on social media with her that of Jesus Christ walking on water.

The singer-songwriter spoke about her relationship with Christ in a X post on Saturday, September 30.

Taking to X, Tems teased she will be releasing new music on Thursday, October 5.

She wrote on her X account, “October 5th”. The announcement was accompanied with a photo of her standing at the bank of a sea.

Immediately after the photo surfaced on social media, expectedly, netizens had something to say about the photo. A particular X user with the username, @RudeCouture was immediate to compare Tems’ pose with that of the river goddess in Yoruba folklore, Yemoja.

Taking to X, the user wrote, “@temsbaby looks like Yemoja (or Yemeya) embodying Oshun

Tems was quick to shrug off insinuations and comparison with a river goddess. She mentioned that she is strongly affiliated with Jesus Christ.

Here is what the singer-songwriter stated on her X account,

“Actually itā€™s about Jesus Christ teaching me how to walk on water, to trust Him and not in human understanding.

He changed my life.

And if you seek Him He will fill you up too.

He is the Lord of Lords.

The word of God, made flesh I am His sheep.

He is my Shepherd.

And I have been forever transformed.

I am His forever. THATS JUST ME DOE”
