Nigerian singer Teniola Apata has sparked online reactions after speaking about a referee from Ghana during Nigeria’s recent AFCON match.
The incident happened on January 15, 2026, after Nigeria lost the match.
In a video that spread quickly online, Teni spoke in a playful but emotional way, saying the referee did not treat Nigeria fairly.
She claimed the official favoured the other side and jokingly called him a brother to Ghanaians.
Teni expressed how the loss affected her mood, saying she had been down since the match ended.

Taking her joke further, the singer made a dramatic appeal to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, asking him to send a fighter jet to Ghana.
“Ghanaians na Una make Nigeria lose this game yesterday. Ghanaians you will pay for this. How can you betray Nigerians this way. Baba Tinubu please help me send fighter jet to Ghana. I no dey feel well since yesterday, I no well,” she said in part.
Nigeria’s journey at the Africa Cup of Nations came to an end after a hard-fought match that ended in disappointment for players and fans.
The Super Eagles failed to secure a win, leading to their exit from the tournament and leaving supporters frustrated across the country.
