Terem Moffi has scored his first goal for FC Porto. He came off the bench to secure a 3-1 victory over Arouca. As a result, the Dragons extended their lead at the top of Liga Portugal.
The Nigerian international arrived in stoppage time to convert William Gomes’ cross, sparking celebrations at the Estádio do Dragão.
Moffi joined Porto on loan from Nice in January. The club holds an €8 million option to make the move permanent. His path to Portugal followed a difficult exit from France. There, he was removed from the first-team picture after fan incidents in November.
Into the match
The 26-year-old entered the match in the 60th minute, replacing Deniz Gül as Porto searched for a winner.
Arouca had equalised through Naïs Djouahra in the 70th minute, cancelling out Oskar Pietuszewski’s record-breaking opener after just 13 seconds. The 17-year-old Pole became the youngest foreign player to score for Porto, breaking Anderson’s 2006 record.
Porto looked destined for a frustrating draw before Seko Fofana won a penalty deep into stoppage time. William Gomes converted from the spot, striking the underside of the bar.

Deep into added time, Gomes turned provider. His cross found Moffi unmarked inside the six-yard box. The Nigerian then powered his finish into the roof of the net.
The goal marked Moffi’s first involvement in a Porto victory after two previous substitute appearances. Porto legend Bruno Moraes had backed the striker to deliver. He insisted Moffi needed time to integrate after his spell away from regular football.
Moffi made his Super Eagles debut in 2021 and represented Nigeria at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations. The team finished in second place. He has scored four goals in 19 international appearances.
