Terrorists have again struck in the Northwestern state of Katsina, killing two people while making away with two other individuals.
The attack, which took place on Saturday, happened at the Malumfashi Local Government Area of the state. The two people killed were attacked at Gidan Diyam community while the abducted locals were captured in Dayi community.
A building material seller, Ejike Hyginus, popularly refered to as āYellowā, and one Mustapha, a health worker operating at the Dayi Primary Healthcare, were the kidnapped victims in Dayi community.
āIn order to have access to Yellowās compound, the bandits pulled down completely the entrance gate to his residence. When they entered into his house, they demanded money but he had no money in the house to give them. Before dragging him away, they also collected his wifeās phone,ā an anonymous source informed newsmen.

According to the source, the terrorists also made a stop at Mustaphaās residence. The bandits made way into his house, said to be close to āYellowāsā, and also kidnapped him before continuing in their ungodly acts.
The terrorists proceeded to the third house in the Kaduna community in another attempt to extort money/kill the occupant(s). However, it was reported that the family head of the house escaped by jumping the fence. After forcing their way into his premises, the crinimals met his wife who just delivered twins. According to sources, the kidnappers freed her because of the babies they saw.
As at the time of filing this report, the terrorists are yet to reach out to the families of the victims kidnapped in Kaduna to make any demands.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer in the State, SP Gambo Isah, stated that he was yet to be briefed about the situation. He added that he would reach out to the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of the area and revert.
Dayi is the hometown of the state’s Assistant Commissioner of Police ACP Aminu Umar. He is also a former Dutsinma Area Commander who was killed by terrorists few months ago.
