The Premier League is Back

The highly anticipated Premier League is back tonight as Arsenal opens the 2021/22 season with a trip to Brentford.

The Premier league is expected to live up to its billing again this year where fireworks will be expected from two teams that play attractive football opening the season when Brentford host Arsenal on Friday night at the recently opened Brentford Community Stadium.

Arsenal might not have had a successful pre-season, but the Gunners can turn on the screw and get maximum points on the night to newly promoted Brentford. Anything other than a win will probably put more dent in Arsenal’s fragile confidence going into this match.

That aside, I will be predicting the top 6, the three teams that might be relegated, and the winner of the top scorer prize and I will be starting my predictions from the later.

Who will win the golden ball in Premier League 2021/22 season?

The Premier League boasts some prolific goalscorer, but Harry Kane went away hast season’s golden booth prize. The English captain has proven his mettle on many occasions.

However, the speculations surrounding his future could hamper his goalscoring contribution. Being in the top ten all-time goal scorers of the Premier League, it’s easy to pick Harry Kane as the likely winner again. What could affect that is his Premier League future with Spurs. He has told the club that he wants to leave.

Kane is likely to be followed closely by Mohammed Salah of Liverpool and Chelsea’s returnee Romelu Lukaku. If the Lanky Belgian keep his goalscoring form intact as evident from his last two seasons in the Italian Serie A. Then he his likely to be a hot contender for the golden boot, considering that he is no stranger to the Premier League.

It obviously won’t be a surprise to see Lukaku in the mix if he stays fit.

Who will make the top six in the Premier League 2021/22 seasons?

The traditional top six teams in the league have been; Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool, and Tottenham for many years until recently.

With the likes of Leicester City and West Ham now regularly mixing it up with the big boys. It is expected to be another fierce battle. Teams like Wolves, Brighton, and Leeds United are not even talking much about their signings but could upset many top teams in the coming season. This is why there are likely to be goals galore Manchester United host Leeds United at the early kick off tomorrow.

The return of Lukaku does mean that Chelsea have put themselves in contention for the Premier League trophy. Having such a winner and goal scorer in their squad is a definitely a bonus.

The missing puzzle for Manchester City could be the focal striker. That’s why Pep Guardiola wants Harry Kane. It is now unsure if Daniel Levy will want to do a deal with a fellow Premier League rival and he also known to be a shrewd negotiator. He will want to get every penny for the English striker. But as it stands, Kane will still be wearing the colours of Tottenham ahead of their opener against the Premier League champions.

Top four conversations have now become the top seven talks

The top four conversation has now changed to the top six in the Premier League. However, with the UEFA Conference League, I will predict the top seven as the 7th place team can be guaranteed European action depending on the winner of the Europa League and Carabao Cup.

Based on the team’s preparation for this season see my prediction below:

1. Chelsea FC

2. Manchester City

3. Manchester United

4. Liverpool

5. Arsenal FC

6. Leicester City

7. Tottenham Hotspurs

Well, don’t be surprised to see Arsenal in the prediction. The Gunners do not have any European commitment. So the job of Mikel Arteta has been made light. Having almost a week of rest during every match week will help their season.

Who will be relegated in the Premier League 2021/22 season?

Such a massive performance against the Premier League champions can make one predict the likely teams relegated, but you can get some upsets. No one believed Sheffield United would be a thorn in the flesh of many teams two seasons ago after their promotion, only for them to fall like a pack of cards alongside Fulham.

Norwich City is used to going and Coming back. But the Canaries might give it a go here by ensuring they get enough points as early as possible in the season to avoid being involved in a relegation fight. They have what it takes to stay in the Premier, having shown their mettle in the Championship. Daniel Farke’s men have a lot of goals in them. They only need to give Teemu Pukki the right service, and he will punish any team.

Although Watford stayed for a long time after their promotion to the top flight before their last relegation, they are not that impressive. But one can’t know what they have in stock for the season. Brentford, on their part, play fantastic football like Fulham. But their undoing could be a lack of finishing in the final third.

Newcastle and Burnley escaped relegation with just two games to go last season. They could find themselves in a fix this season if results don’t go their way. From the look of things, Burnley, Watford, Crystal Palace might find it hard this season so I am tipping them for the drop.

We are glad that the Premier League is back. Let the action begin.
