“No gender has the monopoly of wealth. If you can work towards it, embrace every available opportunity, and with God’s grace, financial success is guaranteed.” – Blessing Enenaite
The average Nigerian girl spends ten years in elementary school, six in secondary school, four in the university, and a year-and-half doing her Masters degree. A simple congratulation will make her day. Applauding her will make her feel that she has achieved something great for herself.
However, most persons have chosen to disregard the achievement of the woman by asking her where her husband is. The woman did not go to school for about two decades to get a husband. She went to school to prepare for a better life ahead of her.
Beyond the call for marriage, can we teach our girls financial independence?
The pressure to get married these days is in the same degree as it was many years back. With more focus on women in the past, only a few women were sent to school.

Every adult is supposed to strive for financial independence. No gender has the monopoly of wealth. If you can work towards it, embrace every available opportunity, and with God’s grace, financial success is guaranteed.
Let’s Empower Girls to Be Financially Independent
This article does not segregate men. However, women need to understand that they do not need to wait for any man before they can fulfill their dreams.
There is more to life than being pressured into being married. Lack of formal education should not be a barrier. Opportunities abound. As a woman, brainstorm for the available ones around and make a difference for yourself.

Consequently, SOME women see relationships as money making ventures. Once a man is in the lives of some women, they see it a source of income. This believe makes them live their lives wanting to please every man that comes their way.
That narrative has to change. Many women are changing that narrative presently. In a few years to come, more women will be free from what the society dictates. These dictates have caused deprivation of ambitions. Lives have become bereft of dreams because they bow to pressure.

Men Should Be Prepared For Marriage As Women Do
Marriage is beautiful. However, individuals should be free to choose when they want to go into that institution. Likewise, no one should be cowed into a bad marriage.
In as much as women are being schooled and given numerous marriage advices, men should be prepped too, from a young age. Marriage is a team work and it takes the effort of both partners to achieve a successful one.
