President Bola Tinubu has endorsed the establishment of the Regional Coordinating Centre (RCC) of the Africa Centres for Disease Control (Africa-CDC) in Nigeria.
As the African Union (AU) Champion for Human Resources for Health and Community Health Delivery Partnership, President Tinubu’s approval of locating the Centre in Abuja underscores Nigeria’s commitment to regional and global health security.
According to Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, this decision is part of a broader initiative aimed at promoting local economic opportunities in the healthcare delivery value chain while enhancing Nigeria’s and West Africa’s capacity to respond swiftly to outbreaks—a crucial aspect of ensuring the well-being and stability of the African continent.
