President Bola Tinubu on Friday congratulated Bishop David Oyedepo, founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, as the cleric marked his 71st birthday.
Tinubu praised Oyedepo’s enduring contributions to Nigeria’s spiritual growth, education, and philanthropy.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President described the Presiding Bishop of Winners Chapel as “a towering figure of influence and impact in Nigeria, Africa and beyond on spiritual, educational and philanthropic platforms.”
The President applauded Oyedepo’s discipline and hard work since establishing Living Faith Church in 1982, noting that these qualities fueled the church’s global expansion while also enabling significant investments in infrastructure, healthcare, and education across cities and nations.

Highlighting Oyedepo’s strides in the education sector, Tinubu pointed to institutions such as Kingdom Heritage Schools, Faith Academy, Covenant University, and Landmark University, which he said “continue to raise the standard of education, competing favorably with other global institutions.”
“You have built one of Africa’s most impactful Christian ministries from humble beginnings.
“Your steadfastness in the Word of Faith ministry is exemplary, birthing many ministries with resonating impacts on key sectors of the economy,” Tinubu noted.
He further commended the cleric’s role in nation-building through preaching, teaching, and service, describing him as “a pacesetter and symbol of a servant leader for many to emulate.”
Oyedepo, regarded as one of Nigeria’s most influential Christian leaders, founded Living Faith Church Worldwide in 1981, with its headquarters at Faith Tabernacle, Ota, Ogun State.
