President Bola Tinubu has extended his congratulations to Amina Mohammed, the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, on the occasion of her 63rd birthday, joining well-wishers worldwide in celebrating this milestone.
Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to Tinubu conveyed this message in a statement released on Friday.
A prominent advocate for environmental sustainability, education, and the Sustainable Development Goals, Ms. Mohammed has dedicated herself to serving Nigeria and the global community in various capacities.
She chaired the Taskforce on Gender and Education for the United Nations Millennium Project from 2002 to 2005 and has contributed significantly to numerous international advisory boards and panels.

From 2015 to 2017, she served as Nigeria’s Minister of Environment, where she notably mobilized both governmental and non-governmental stakeholders in the oil and gas sector to facilitate the launch of the Ogoniland clean-up, among other governance achievements.
President Tinubu hailed Ms. Mohammed as a global icon and one of Nigeria’s guiding lights, illuminating the path toward a more prosperous, peaceful, and secure future for humanity.
He commended her tireless dedication to the nation and described her as a shining example of Nigerian excellence and a role model for both men and women globally.
