President Bola Tinubu has directed the immediate settlement of outstanding electricity bills owed to the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC).
In a statement, Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, noted that the directive follows the reconciliation of accounts between the State House Management and AEDC.
Contrary to AEDC’s initial claim of a N923 million debt in a paid advertorial in newspapers, the State House’s outstanding bill amounts to N342,352,217.46, as indicated in a letter from AEDC’s management to the State House Permanent Secretary dated 14 February.
