Tinubu heads to Jos to comfort victims, delays Ogun trip

President Bola Tinubu has reshuffled his multi-state travel itinerary to prioritise a condolence visit to Plateau State, following recent deadly gun attacks in Jos.

Originally slated to be in Iperu, Ogun State tomorrow, the President postponed that engagement to lead a high-level delegation to the Plateau State capital.

His visit aims to express sympathy to the government and citizens over the tragic loss of lives.

The President’s spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, outlined the updated schedule, which balances national mourning with a series of major economic and infrastructure commissions across the country.

Following his visit to Jos, Tinubu will travel to Lagos to observe Good Friday.

He will remain in the state over the Easter period to inaugurate several landmark projects completed under Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s administration.

These include the iconic Ojota/Opebi Link Bridge, the new Lagos State Geographic Information System (GIS) building and a major Multi-Agency Complex named in the President’s honour, alongside a modern school complex.

The President will return to Ogun State on Saturday to mark the formal takeoff of the Gateway International Cargo Airport in Iperu.

His visit will also feature the commissioning of two commercial aircraft dedicated to import and export, positioning Ogun as a regional logistics hub and the unveiling of the new Federal Operations Unit building for the Nigeria Customs Service, along with a fleet of operational vehicles.

The tour will conclude in the Niger Delta, where President Tinubu is expected to visit Bayelsa State on 10 April.
