President Bola Tinubu has announced new appointments in his administration. His Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, disclosed this in a statement.
Mr. Tinubu appointed Idris Ajimobi as Senior Special Assistant to the President on Livestock Development.
This appointment follows the inauguration of the Presidential Committee on the Implementation of Livestock Reforms and the establishment of a new Ministry of Livestock Development.
Mr Tinubu aims to harness Nigeria’s agricultural potential, including the animal husbandry sector, to spur economic growth, create jobs, and resolve conflicts between farmers and herders. The President expects effective coordination and liaison regarding this critical sector.
In addition, Mr. Tinubu appointed Senator Bashir Lado Mohammed as Special Adviser on Senate Matters. Senator Mohammed, an experienced politician and businessman from Kano State, previously served as a Senator and Director-General of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP).
The President expects him to use his experience to enhance cooperation between the Executive and the Legislature for improved government performance.

Moreover, he appointed Dr Mainasara Umar Kogo as the Chairman of the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT). Dr. Kogo is a seasoned lawyer and analyst in law, security, economy, politics, and international diplomacy. The President anticipates professionalism and integrity in his role.
The President also named Cornelius Oluwasegun Adebayo as the new Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer of the National Agricultural Land Development Authority (NALDA). An engineer and expert in community and social development, Mr Adebayo is expected to drive the growth and sustainability of Nigeria’s agricultural sector.
Mr Tinubu further appointed Jobson Ewalefoh as the new Director-General of the Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC).
With extensive experience in public-private partnerships, public policy reform, and development, Mr. Ewalefoh’s appointment is subject to Senate confirmation.
The President expects dedication and probity in managing the ICRC and accelerating investment in national infrastructure through private-sector funding.
Similarly, Omolola Bridget Oloworaran was appointed as the new Director-General of the National Pension Commission (PenCom). A finance and banking expert, her appointment is also subject to Senate confirmation.
The President expects her to drive efficiency and performance in the Nigerian Pension Industry.
Furthermore, Oluwaseun Faleye was named the new Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF).
A legal and corporate finance specialist, Mr Faleye, along with Mojisolaoluwa Kehinde Alli-Macaulay, appointed as Executive Director (Operations), is expected to reposition NSITF for enhanced social protection and service delivery.
More so, Dr Olufemi Adekanmbi was appointed as the new Project Coordinator for the Hydrocarbon Pollution Remediation Project (HYPREP).
A former Commissioner for Special Duties, Culture, and Tourism in Ondo State and a member of the Nigerian Environmental Society (NES), Dr. Adekanmbi holds a Doctorate in Environmental Management.
The President expects competence and dedication in restoring communities impacted by hydrocarbon pollution, particularly in Ogoniland.
However, Baffa Dan Agundi was appointed as the new Director-General of the National Productivity Centre (NPC).
A former majority leader of the Kano State House of Assembly and Principal Registrar of the Kano State High Court of Justice, Mr. Dan Agundi is expected to drive the Centre’s mandate of fostering a national culture of operational efficiency and measurable productivity.
Umar Ibrahim Mohammed was appointed as the new Director-General of the Nigeria Hydrological Services Agency (NIHSA).
An architect and expert in construction technology and environment, Mr. Mohammed is expected to improve the agency’s operations, including maintaining hydrological stations and conducting groundwater exploration and monitoring.
Mr Tinubu further appointed Silas Agara as the new Director-General of the National Directorate of Employment (NDE). An entrepreneur and sports administrator, Mr. Agara previously served as the Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State.
The President expects an overhaul of the NDE for optimal performance in combating mass unemployment.
Tosin Adeyanju was appointed as the new Executive Secretary of the National Lottery Trust Fund (NLTF).
An accomplished administrator and advocate of good governance, Mr Adeyanju is expected to ensure transparency and efficiency in the agency’s operations to drive good causes in Nigeria.
