Tinubu makes fresh appointments

President Bola Tinubu has made new appointments to his administration, as announced by his spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, in a statement on Monday.

Among the appointments, Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman has been named the Executive Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON). 

Professor Usman is a distinguished scholar with credentials from two renowned Islamic institutions: the University of Madinah and Peshawar University in Pakistan. 

His extensive experience in Hajj operations includes serving as the Chairman of the Kano State Pilgrims Board, where he successfully managed the state’s largest quota of pilgrims in the country.

This appointment is subject to Senate confirmation. The President expects the new NAHCON Chairman to perform his duties with integrity, transparency, and a deep commitment to the nation.

Additionally, President Tinubu appointed a new management team for the Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC).

The newly appointed management members are as follows: Engineer Jennifer Adighijeas, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer; Engineer Abdullahi Kassim as Executive Director (Generation)—Engineer Bello Babayo Bello as Executive Director (Networks).

Others were Emmanuel Umeoji as Executive Director (Corporate Services), Omololu Agoro as Executive Director (Finance & Accounts)—Engineer Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihamaas Executive Director (Strategy & Commercial) and Barrister Steven Andzenge as Executive Director (Legal Services).

The newly appointed NDPHC CEO, Jennifer Adighije, is a seasoned engineer with broad expertise across various management roles in both the private and public sectors. 

She holds a master’s degree in Wireless Networks & Telecommunications from Queen Mary University of London, UK, and a bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering from the University of Lagos, Nigeria.

President Tinubu expects the new management team to utilize their expertise and experience to advance NDPHC’s mandate of effectively managing the National Integrated Power Projects (NIPP).
