President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s resolve to tackle insecurity, insisting that the safety of Nigerians, particularly the most vulnerable—will not be compromised.
He made this known on Sunday at his Lagos residence while hosting Vice President Kashim Shettima and 23 state governors who paid him an Eid-el-Fitr homage.
The meeting came shortly after the President returned on Friday from a three-day State Visit to the United Kingdom, the first by a Nigerian leader in nearly four decades—where King Charles III and Queen Camilla received him.
Speaking on his engagements abroad, Tinubu said discussions in London and with Emmanuel Macron focused on securing modern equipment and technical support to confront criminal activities.

He stressed that his administration is actively building international partnerships aimed at reinforcing Nigeria’s security architecture.
“I have committed to strengthening the networks necessary for our safety,” he said, noting that efforts were ongoing to deepen collaboration with several countries.
The President also cautioned that the ongoing crisis in the Middle East could lead to increased global inflation, with likely consequences for energy prices, transportation costs, and overall purchasing power at home.
He urged state governors to take proactive steps to ease the burden on citizens by introducing policies that improve livelihoods and provide targeted support.
