Tinubu mourns former CAF President Issa Hayatou

President Bola Tinubu has expressed his condolences to the family of Issa Hayatou, the former President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

Hayatou died at the age of 77 in Paris on Thursday.

Hayatou also served as the acting President of FIFA, the world’s football governing body, during his illustrious career.

In a statement released by his spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu extended his sympathies to the Cameroonian Football Federation, the people of Cameroon, and the broader African football community.

The President described Hayatou’s passing as a profound loss, highlighting his significant contributions to the growth of football in Africa and around the world.

President Tinubu offered prayers for the peaceful repose of Hayatou’s soul and strength for his family during this difficult time.
