Nigerian Afrobeats queen Tiwa Savage has shared the story behind her surprise collaboration with British-Nigerian rapper Skepta on her latest single, On The Low.
Speaking in a recent interview, Tiwa said the feature came about in the most casual way.
She explained that she sent Skepta a direct message on social media without initially revealing her intentions.
“Ladies, I want to say that it does work sometimes when you slide into that DM. I did slide into the DM and I was like, hey, big smoke. I didn’t really tell him up front what I wanted. I was just like, I’m in London. He said he was in the studio, and I went over. I played him the record and he loved it,” she said.
