The Lagos-born boxer had an eventful professional career, stepping into the ring for 23 bouts. Over the years, he secured 13 victories—12 by knockout—while also recording eight losses and two draws.
Even though he had faced four consecutive defeats leading up to this fight, he remained a respected competitor.
His death has left a void in the boxing community, with many mourning the loss of a fighter who once held the National and West African light-heavyweight titles.
In addition to the grief, his passing has reignited debates about safety in the sport, particularly concerning Nigerian boxers and the need for stricter medical protocols.
