For a man who has a lot to offer his generation, passing on at the age of 48 is quite painful. Nigeria’s foremost life coach, security expert, and convener of Thinkation, Ubong King, died on December 26, 2020.
His death shook all who knew him. His zeal to make a mark during his time on earth spurred him into mentorship.

Confirming the death of her husband on Boxing Day, Mrs Unyime King posted on her Facebook page:
“This is an open post to everyone just to respond to all who have tried to reach me that I’m unable to respond to because of the volume of calls coming in. I will be unavailable for a while after this post so my children and I can process in private”.
“All I want to say right now is that my everlasting date Ubong King has completed the short 48 years assignment that our Lord asked him to do and he’s at peace now. I need to keep my mind strong so love me from a distance and pray for us all. I can’t do RIP yet – maybe later. But the family and I are stable and God is in our corner”.
Tributes to the King
No doubt, King’s teachings touched lives immensely. He was an inspiration to many. At his leadership seminars, he dared attendees to aspire for greater heights.
In one of his teachings, he said: “Once you put time on any project, time on any assignment, time on anything, it changes who your friends are, it changes who talk to, it changes where you go. If your friends are the same ones you have five years ago till today that means you have not made progress’’.
In his message on the passing of King, Dele Momodu tweeted, “In fact, this is real Armageddon, such a genius cut short so soon. Good night @ubongking RIP.’’
Sally Suleiman tweeted, ‘’I just heard that the King of the jungle, the Lion, the trouble maker is dead. This is one man I always wanted to meet. His wisdom is impeccable. RIP Ubong King. Thank you for leaving great words behind, you have sowed seeds that will continue to bear fruits. #UbongKing.”
Ubong King was an indigene of Akwa Ibom state. Until his death, he was married to Unyime and their union was blessed with four children. King may be no more with the mortals but his memory will live in the hearts of those he touched.
Rest on, The Troublemaker.
