United Nigeria Airlines accepts VDM, Mr Jollof’s apologies

United Nigeria Airlines has accepted the apologies issued by Martins “VeryDarkMan” Vincent Otse and Freedom Okpetoritse “Mr Jollof” Atsepoyi over their onboard altercation on Monday.

NRTC reported that VeryDarkMan and Mr Jollof were involved in the altercation while boarding flight UN0523 from Asaba to Lagos.

Following the incident, both men apologised on their respective Instagram pages to the airline, passengers, Nigerians, and the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA). 

They expressed remorse and pledged not to engage in such conduct again.

In a statement signed by its Public Relations Officer, Chibuzor Ukoka, the airline acknowledged the apologies tendered by VeryDarkMan and Mr Jollof.

  It also noted their commitment to avoiding any behavior that might compromise aviation safety, decorum, or orderliness on future flights.
  
  The airline appreciated the NCAA, the Airport Security and Safety Committee (AVSEC), and its crew and operational teams for managing the situation professionally and in line with established safety procedures.
  
  The airline reaffirmed its alignment with the Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON) and other regulatory bodies in efforts to curb unruly passenger behavior within the aviation sector. 
  
  It also encouraged the travelling public to continue cooperating with airline staff, security agencies, and airport authorities to maintain high safety standards.
  
  “United Nigeria Airlines remains committed to delivering safe, reliable, and dignified service to all our passengers across our networks,” the airline said.
  
  This newspaper earlier reported that the NCAA stated that VeryDarkMan and Mr Jollof would be prosecuted, but as of press time, the agency hasn’t provided any updates.
